| Sherry Richardson, B.C.O., BADO Sherry is a Board Certified Ocularist practicing in Nashville and Chattanooga, TN. Sherry has been working in the fields of Ophthalmolgy and Ocularistry since 1991, and has been an Ocularist since 1996. Sherry trained in Birmingham, AL at Cox Ocular Prosthetics, Inc., under C.W. (Bill) Cox and Elise Cox Pratt. She is a member of the American Society of Ocularists (ASO) and has completed the training program of the ASO. Sherry recently purchased Carney Prosthetics in Nashville and continues to care for those patients. Our desire is to offer the highest quality Ocular prosthesis possible. | The American Society of Ocularist (A.S.O) is a professional organization which was established in 1957. The purpose of which was to promote high standards through research and edcuation in the field of Ophthalmic Prosthetics. Today the A.S.O. maintains quality ocularisty through its formal education training and continuing education program. |
The National Examining Board of Ocularists (NEBO) is an independemt entity whose directors come form the following participationg organizations: The American Academy of Ophthalmology The American Board for Certifications of Orthotics and Prosthetics The American Society of Ocularists and a Public Member NEBO awards the title Board Certified Ocularist (B.C.O.) to those Ocularists who successfully complete a comprehensive four-part written and practical examination. It is necessary to recertify every six years. |
